KIKK Music Review - S-E-L Scores A Telugu Point

After Vishal-Shekhar, it's Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy composing for a Telugu movie. They don't unleash their full potential here, but it's still an enjoyable album. The compilation includes every variety of song that's popular nowadays. This Siddharth and Tamanna starrer has already scored music-wise with at least three out of the eight songs that you'll hum long after the music's off. How much more popular it gets depends a whole lot on the movie's performance at the box-office. Heard individually, it's nice-not blockbusterish, just nice and decent stuff.

Egire Egire The start of the album is a youthful peppy number with a cozy foursome at the playback-Clinton Cerejo, Hemachandra, Raman Mahadevan and Shilpa Rao. Chandrabose's lyrics are all about freedom as the title suggests and all that things that signify youth-dreams, independence et al. It's a very energetic song and the playback choices work out pretty well together. The electric guitar stands out in this classic mood song. ***.75

Aanandama A beautiful soft duet rendered by Shreya Ghoshal and Shankar Mahadevan, Aanandama.. has lyrics penned by Seetarama Sastry. The instrumental is lovely as is Ghoshal's vocals and the way the tune mellows down further when she chips in. The santoor in the song is the highlight along with the way the energy level goes from shade to shade seamlessly. So far, so good. ***1/2

Abacha Shilpa Rao and Mahalaxmi Iyer sing this Item-ish number; two girls singing about/for a guy. Erm, definitely heard this before with a few changes. Should make it to the top 100 list of this category. **.75

Konchem Ishtam This is a total fun title track, with Seetarama Sastry's upbeat lyrics and matching happy music. Along with Egire, this is the Pick of the Album. This is super catchy and you find yourself tapping your feet along with the fun beats. The instrumental, the tone of the vocals and the chorus makes for a happy hear. ***1/2

Evade Subrahmanyam The song sounds a little like a Bhajan. Chinni Charan's quirky lyrics, Shankar Mahadevan's vocals and the chorus together makes the song a little tongue-in-cheek. It sounds like a prelude to the title track due to the similarity in temperment. ***

Antha Siddanga Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal sing to Seetarama Sastry's lines for a number which sounds like it is straight out of the 90s. After the second stanza it picks up a little with a more contemporary touch to it. The vocals and the combination is an asset to the flashback (from the 90s) duet. ***

Enduku Chentaki This could well have been a Hindi number, with it's sufi influence and typical instrumental. The mood is melancholy but not melodramatic. It's sad but subtle. Unnikrishnan does a good job at the vocals singing Seetarama Sastry's lyrics. ***1/2

Panchirey Sadhana Sargam begins the song melodiously after which Kirti Sagathia takes over along with a robust chorus. Rama Jogayya Sastry pens in the lyrics for this double-shaded number. A duet about being in love with a few Hindi lyrics to sign off the compilation by S-E-L. ***.25

Last Word Hummable, catchy and contemporary.

Rating: ***.25 (***** Very Good, **** Good, *** Fair, ** Average, * Bad)

'Arundhati's Mark In Tollywood History

It is not often that you see a movie arriving with a less noise and creating a deafening impact on the audience that the reverberations of it would be felt for a long time. The Telugu film history has seen such movies very rarely and notable among them were flicks like 'Khaidi' 'Geetanjali' 'Siva' 'Pokiri' etc..

Now, here is one film that seems to be creating a new league of blockbuster successes and it is none other than 'Arundhati'. Apparently, reports have been arriving from all corners about the outcome of this movie and there graphs are falling of nothing less than a blockbuster for this flick.

Analysts are saying that 'Arundhati' will create an everlasting impact on the markets and it surely has been named as a cult film given its offbeat genre, the world class standard of graphics and the remarkable performances of the lead cast. This is a really good news for the ailing Tollywood industry.

Another Baby For Sexiest Tummy Award

It has always been believed that the real essence of a woman's beauty and expression lies in her eyes but then coming to the cracks of it, many say that the real sex appeal for a woman lies on her hips and the navel. The tummy region is something that has always enticed the men and they would spend a fortune to have a glimpse at that.

True to the taste of the audience, even the film makers come up with some real good feats to ensure that the tummies of the heroines are shown in the most sensuous manner causing a great flurry among the viewers. Here is one girl who seems to have become the hottest bet for that.

She is none other than the slender beauty Vidisha and after having seen her beautiful navel and luscious hips, the talk is that she deserves a very special award for having the sexiest tummy in the industry. We are all saying that Mamata Mohandas seemed to have the best but with Vidisha's entry, things have got more intense. Let us hope Vidisha takes her to top places in Tollywood.

Ileana Is Missing!!!

She is known as perhaps the only actress who has the most seductive and sensuous hips that one has ever seen and true to her shape, enough dialogues have been written on her beautiful assets in movies. Though she hails from Goa, she has found Telugu to be her home and is the ruling queen of Tollywood.

Her name is Ileana but now, things seem to have changed for her and her graphs seem to be dwindling. After having walked out of superstar Rajinikanth's 'Sultan-the Warrior' since her fee demand was not met, Ileana had been trying hard for a breakthrough in Kollywood which did not happen.

With the increasing demand for Nayantara, Trisha and slowly but surely Anushka in the circuit, it sure looks like Ileana might have an uphill task on her hand to prove herself. For now, it is being said that Ileana is not to be seen around and she is now recuperating from her injury at her residence in Goa.

Hot Actress Slims For Lover??

She is rated as one of the hottest birds in town and critics rate her as the raunchiest sex dolls the Telugu audience has seen lately. She is none other than Shraddha Das and though her image is that of a sex bomb, Shraddha seems to be in the mood for making it to the big league through her acting prowess.

There is news that Shraddha has actually cut down on her weight and has toned her shape very well. Inside sources say that all this is due to the fact that she has a man in her life and he wants her to look that way. However, Shraddha from her end has quashed all that as baseless rumors.

Lover or no lover, Shraddha surely is looking more hotter than before and looks set on her goal. She now has the sequel to the blockbuster 'Arya' alongside Allu Arjun, the supposedly Telugu version of 'Basic Instinct' titled as 'Target' and then 'Diary', the sequel to the super hit 'Manthra'. Way to go Shraddha!!!

Anushka In 7 Languages

There are only two names that have been making rounds in the film industry currently, one is 'Arundhati' the film and then Anushka, the lead heroine. The film has turned out to be an overwhelming success in the collection centres and in no time, the impact of Anushka's presence and her performance spread like wildfire throughout the other film circuits.

Now, there is news that the film is being made into seven different languages starting from Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Bhojpuri, Bengali and English. However, barring the possibility of Hindi, the rest would be in dubbed versions since it is practically impossible to create such sort of high quality graphics.

While producer Shyamprasad Reddy is said to be looking at the Hindi version for remake, the rest would be in dubbings and if this happens as per plan then our 'Sweety' (that's Anushka's pet name) will be busy spreading her charms throughout seven different languages and literally across the entire nation. Good luck for this folks!!!
